The Life Skills Project

Mark Taylor Support Ltd – The Life Skills Project.

Following consultation with service users, parents and carers in September 2018 we launched our Life Skills Project in partnership with Hollinswood and Randlay Parish Council with the aim of offering user led, bespoke Life Skills Programmes, within a small group setting.

The small group setting allows the Life Skills Project to focus on individual needs whilst developing independence through life long learning and community integration.

The Life Skills Project sessions run on a Monday between 9am and 3pm and is based at the Hollinswood Community Centre, 7 Downmead, Telford TF3 2EW

The programme runs across three 14 week terms from September to August.

There are 8 user places available within each group who access the programme, which is open to users 16 years and over.

The project is led by the Project Manager – Jodie Sands and supported by a minimum of 2 support assistants, thus meaning the project will be working within a ratio of 1 member of staff to 3 service users.

The project provides progression pathways from the Introduction to Life Skills programme via a range of user led choice programmes.

Support costs from £62 per day based on users accessing a full-term programme. This cost is inclusive of all programme content, activities and lunch.

1:1/2:1 support and transport support is available on request, with additional charges applicable.

A more detailed outline of the project is available within The Life Skills Project Overview – MARCH 2019.
